The Department for International Trade (DIT), created in July 2016, is at the heart of the UK’s requirement to secure a better deal for the UK as it negotiates a successful exit from the EU, and establishes new relationships with other countries around the globe. With over 3,700 people based in 108 countries, the department is building a first class communications function and the Internal Communications and Engagement team is central to communicating and engaging with our people across the world.
About the Team
The Internal Communications and Engagement team sits within DITs Communication Directorate, a fast paced, high profile environment where you will enjoy a varied and fulfilling range of work, such as supporting staff engagement events and high profile internal creative campaigns.
About the Role
We are looking for a talented, motivated, collaborative and creative communications professional to join our dynamic internal communications team. You will have a can-do attitude and excellent relationship management skills, ready to work closely with partners across the business.
Support the creation and evaluation of compelling content and campaigns across all internal communications channels to help DIT become an outstanding organisation where people are proud to work, aligned with DITs internal communication and wider communication strategies
Use audience insight to segment and target different audiences as part of the campaigns and planning process
Support employee engagement through the planning and organisation of face to face events and other channels to promote two way engagement
Draft and publish compelling and engaging content for digital and other DIT corporate communications channels
Recommend and use a range of creative content tools to produce high quality content, including video, infographics and photography
To develop an effective working relationship with partners across DIT, collaborating with key stakeholders and the wider internal communications team to engage staff in the UK and overseas with our departmental priorities
Provide clear, professional internal communications advice and support the professionalisation of internal communications
A creative and proactive professional with experience of, or a strong interest, in communications, and particularly internal communications. A confident individual who can write well, manage multiple projects, and hit the ground running with a can do approach.
Experience of communicating with overseas audiences would be desirable.
