Our internal communications business partners play a key role in this by developing and delivering – and supporting our managers to deliver – internal communications that inform, engage and enthuse our people.
What makes this role unique?
You’ll get close to the business areas that you will be partnering with, acting as a trusted advisor on internal communications matters and playing a key role in helping them to achieve their business objectives. You’ll be working with senior stakeholders in your areas and playing a key role in helping them to achieve their business objectives. You’ll be joining the corporate internal communications team at an exciting time in its development. You’ll get a chance to business partner different areas in this role, as the roles will rotate every 12 months. This will widen your experience and make for an interesting and varied job.
What will this role involve?
You’ll get under the skin of the business areas you are responsible for, understanding their challenges and communications needs.
You’ll own, develop and deliver creative internal communications plans which inform and engage people in your business areas.
You’ll provide fantastic internal communications advice and guidance that equips leaders and managers with the tools and confidence to be outstanding communicators.
You’ll write and produce materials that are engaging and on brand.
You’ll support our wider business by taking part in an events desk rota, helping to deliver an excellent internal communications service during operational events.
What are we looking for?
You’ll be passionate, both about internal comms and its capacity to drive employee engagement and also about understanding customers and meeting their needs.
You will be a high-energy, creative person with at least three years’ internal communications experience.
You will have great interpersonal skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships and to influence at all levels.
You will be working in a busy environment, with lots going on so you must be able to balance multiple projects at any one time.
It goes without saying that you’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to turn complex information into compelling copy that gets people’s attention.
You’ll have high standards and an excellent attention to detail.
We’re developing our digital communications channels so you’ll have a real commitment to and interest in using these channels to get your messages across and engage people.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our Clearwater Court offices in Central Reading, with some travel around the area required. We are offering a salary up to £42,000 depending on skills and experience.
