If so, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Internal Communications Manager to join us at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). 

Through HM Coastguard, we deliver a 24-hour maritime search and rescue emergency response service throughout the UK. We produce legislation and guidance on maritime matters and provide certification to seafarers. We enforce standards for ship safety, security, pollution prevention and seafarer health, safety and welfare for seafarers through our survey and inspection regime.

There is a strong focus on engagement so you will also need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships and networks within MCA. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

As part of the role, your responsibilities will include: 
• 
developing a suite of new digital internal communications tools, including the MCA intranet and web-based newsletters, networks and forums 
• gathering and using insight and evaluation to understand audiences and inform continuous improvement of internal communications methods and tools 
• acting as senior content owner for the new intranet, ensuring all business areas are represented and teams actively manage their presence on the intranet 
• working closely with directors to ensure internal messaging supports the delivery of their key projects 
• working with senior managers across the business such as HR and ICT to ensure staff have the information they need to do their job

ABOUT YOU 

Do you come from an internal communications background and have experience planning, managing and delivering key internal communications materials at strategic and operational levels? 

Are you someone with a genuine interest in digital content and a flair for creating engaging, original content for different audiences and purposes? If this seems like you, this role could be your next professional move. 

You will be motivated and a self-starter with strong project management skills who can effectively manage your time in addition to multiple projects and deadlines. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and find engaging with a range of people and building lasting working relationships second nature.
