Core purpose 

As part of the internal comms team, you’ll take the lead on the delivery of communications within TSB and help shape, build and deliver our strategic communications plan.

You’ll be accountable for producing internal communications on our major data migration programme. Forming relationships with and providing advice and content to different stakeholders.

You’ll also provide a level of challenge and insight on the Partner impacts of any decisions you make.

You’ll be part of a small migration communications team and as part of your role, you’ll need to step up occasionally and act as a deputy to the Senior Migration Communications Manager.

Ultimately, your decisions will help engage partners right across the organisation in delivering our new IT platform. And by doing so help TSB’s mission to help make banking better for UK consumers.

You’ll need to have a background in change communications to know your stuff, be able to make strategic links between different people and bits of the business and be quick on your feet.

•Your role sits within the Internal Communications team. And you’ll be part of a wider team of Communications Managers who create strategic communications for all parts of TSB. This includes the teams and people who talk to customers’ day in day out in our branches, contact centres and business banking.

It also means helping and working with the teams that help make sure TSB runs smoothly – from HR to Customer Operations and Finance.

•We want you to bring fresh ideas and thinking to internal communications to help make sure TSB Partners understand and believe in what TSB is trying to do.

•Banking can be complex at times, so you’ll need to be able to distil the complex into the simple but without losing any of the important stuff. This means being able to write and develop content and key messages for our different communication channels, pulling together disparate threads of information to help people understand what we’re doing and why. Sometimes this’ll be for big milestones within our data migration, or when we need to be sensitive or respond quickly.

•You’ll be able to write clearly and succinctly and won’t be afraid of throwing in some of your own personality where it’s appropriate. We’ve worked hard to create a tone of voice for TSB and you’ll need to understand what it’s all about and help other parts of the business bring it to life.

•You’ll need to be a self-starter – and be able to create comms solutions that will work for the business. You’ll be organised and structured whilst being flexible enough to deal with competing priorities and agendas.

•You’ll be good at building relationships with people right across the business to help you get the job done – right from our exec and senior managers to customer facing partners and third party suppliers. Being ok with asking ‘what does that mean?’.

•You’ll work closely with our events and editorial team to help deliver internal communications and plans – being confident to make a case for your creative ideas.

•This role links closely with the main data migration programme – Internal Communications owns a workstream within the bigger programme structure. There will be project plans to manage against and articulate to the central project team. Yes, I know this is a role in comms but there will be some spreadsheet work. And governance. Likewise you’ll need to help shape a suite of evidence to prove and assure our work.

•You’ll also need to evaluate and measure the success of what we do. We’re doing a lot of good but are still sensible and humble enough to know there’s always ways of improving.

•You’ll provide support for copy writing and second sighting across the team. And be comfortable giving your creative input to help find the right solutions.
